This course is designed for Academic Staff to enable them use the University's Learning Management System (LMS) for a blended teaching of theire courses. The training is aimed to open up possibilities for course delivery beyond the traditional classroom. Whether moving all of your course online, or just parts of it, this LMS training will equip you with all the tools you need in a concise and easily digestible manner.

About the Course

This course covers the most important elements of the University’s LMS needed to get up and running in delivering learning content either fully online or blended with traditional classroom learning.

The training course will span a non-consecutive period of one week, such that 5 consecutive days will be used for teaching and learning, followed by a gap of 7 days (of hands-on practical session) before rounding off the last two days with a quiz and a closing ceremony.

The course is also designed as an interactive course, with all Learners having their own sandboxes to experiment and practice the materials, and requirements for successful completion of the course.

 

Learning Objectives

By the completion of this course, participants are expected to: 

1.     Create Instructional Videos

2.     Register and Enroll Users on the LMS

3.     Create Groups/Groupings/Cohorts

4.     Create Questions and Question Bank

5.     Use the Activities and Resources on the Moodle LMS

6.     Mark Online Exams and Set up a Gradebook on the Moodle LMS 

Note

At the end of the course, participants will take an Online Quiz and provide Feedback on the course. While the Quiz carries 40 marks, the Practical, Hands-On Labs carry 60 marks.

Award Certificates will also be issued during the Closing Ceremony.
